IHOP Complaint

Today (06.25.2015), I took my best friend out to breakfast. She was visiting Raleigh, NC. Today was her last day. I treated her out to breakfast at Ihop on 7471 Six Forks Road in Raleigh, NC. When we approached the greeter's counter, the white female white greeter immediately looked at a male waiter, who also was working on duty, and gave him a look like she was disgusted that we entered the building. The white male waiter responded to her racism with his eyes and a smile. At the same time he made a frown when he looked at us. The greeter and the male nonverbal cues showed concrete evidence that they were not happy in serving people of color. The white female greeter was going to seat us in the back of the restaurant. The back of the restaurant was filled with black customers. My friend requested that we have a booth. She became upset. It showed in her body and the nasty smile she and her coworker gave each other. Let me remind you, this greeter did not put any of the white customers in the room while there were black customers in the back. When the greeter gave us our seats, she was not nice. She did not say "I hope you enjoy your meal." For all the white customers, who sit in front and behind us, she asked them, "Will this be comfortable for you?" When I our server came to the table, I immediately requested for the manager. I did not get the attention of the manager. I got and informed the manager about this situation. He replied, "I will talk to her. But, I will not do it while the both of you are here." I turned my head. I knew immediately that I had to report on him too. He lack the responsibilities of managerial skills and people skills. I will never go back to any IHOP. It was so bad. I could not enjoy my food. My friend was telling me to cheer up. How can you cheer up when you are paying for people to be mean and rude. I am not a person who likes to cause trouble or make a scene. Also, people in the restaurants have the presumption that people of color want free food. I do not want free food. I have a career, and I can buy food from the supermarket and prepare it just as well as any restaurant. I report it to the cooperate. As people of color, we are already stereotyped. I have a graduate to act in a negative way. After eating almost all of my food, I saw hair in my food. Now I have lived in Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, and North Carolina. Sadly to say, that I have seen hair in my food. That is just nasty. On our way out, I paid for our food and gave the server a tip. The manager was out cashier. While, I was standing at the cashier desk, I made sure that I got the IHOP hotline. I think he noticed me programming the number in my phone. Somebody need to know how the lack of professionalism at this location of 7471 Six Forks Road.
